Snickerdoodles Bakery & Coffee House
Snickerdoodles is located in the heart of Hampstead just North of Reisterstown and Owings Mills. Owners Rob & Julia Gonzalez have owned Snickerdoodles since 2003. Rob has been pastry chef for 20 plus years. He recieved his training from the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont. After graduating from NECI, Rob, Julia and their two children, at the time, had moved to Vermont so Rob could teach baking & pastries at the Institute. Although, both are true Marylanders, after two years in Vermont they decided to move back to Maryland to be close to family. At that time, Rob took the job of Executive Pastry Chef for the Classic Catering People, were he worked for 14 years. Now four kids later, Rob knew that he wanted to open up his own bakery in his hometown of Hampstead. In 2003 they bought an existing bakery. Right from the git-go they were having growing pains. They new in order to stay successful that they must find a new larger location. In August 2006 they opened their new location only 1/8 mile north of the old one. With the new location they now have incorporated a coffee house as well. Snickerdoodles specializes in Wedding Cakes, 3-D cakes, french pastries, and many other delicious pastries.
